Recent years have seen an unpreceded growth in utility investments globally in HVDC and Power Quality converter application in the electrical transmission systems, mainly driven by large sale introduction of renewable energy sources.

A crucial element is its control and protection system. Hitachi Energy's state-of-the-art MACH control system provides unequalled calculation capacity and enables a high degree of integration and handling of all control and protection functions. MACH is a dedicated, highly performance optimized control system key to the superior performance and reliability of systems supplied by Hitachi Energy, MACH™ control and protection system | Hitachi Energy

We are now searching for a dedicated professional to take on the role as a global product manager for the MACH system. In this role you will be responsible for the overall prioritization of the product and interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the MACH product is the right fit now, tomorrow and in the future for our new projects as well as to secure that our large installed base can be served with life cycle solutions.

Your Responsibilities

  • Interact with key internal and external stakeholders to understand the products current performance and collect needs for the future.
  • Participate together with Marketing and Sales towards our customer and other external channels to promote the products and support our business development.
  • Derive from the need's requirements and timeline for the R&D organization to include in release roadmaps.
  • Ensure the requirements balance the need from each stakeholder but also new development and support of the installed base.
  • Define priorities between requirements and activities in terms of conflicts.
  • Lead, guide and mentor the technical responsible within the R&D organization on the customers' expectations and needs.
  • Be an active member of the management team and give the voice of the customers.


Your background
  • You have a solid technical background in protection and control for the electrical industry.
  • You have >10 years of management experience leading product development teams for electronics and software products.
  • You should also have several years of experience from product management and/or marketing and sales of relevant products.
  • Preferably you have hands on experience from the Hitachi Energy MACH Control and Protection system in HVDC or from Power Quality applications.
  • As a person you are goal-oriented and with a leadership style that allows you to influence others in a good way without formal line management authority.
  • You are a good communicator and strong in building internal and external relationships.
  • You have a M.Sc. in relevant engineering field.
  • You are proficient in English since you will be part of an international setting where you will need to communicate with people from all over the world. Swedish is a plus but not a necessity.
