Technical Lead AI & ML

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Technical Lead to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate should have deep technical knowledge in machine learning and artificial intelligence, including a strong understanding of relevant programming languages, tools, and tech-stacks as well as a passion for coaching others. As a Tech Lead AI/ML, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cutting-edge AI/ML solutions to help our clients solve complex business problems.

You will work closely with our architects, development teams, project managers, and customers to ensure that our software solutions meet the highest standards of quality, scalability, and maintainability. You will lead, coordinate and coach other developers, while contributing hands-on technically to projects. You will also actively participate in the quotation process, together with Project office (PMO), sales and system engineers as applicable.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Develop and implement advanced AI/ML algorithms, models, and systems to solve complex business problems.
• Apply machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques to IoT solutions and device edge-AI solutions, including working with embedded systems and sensors.
• Use cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP to deploy and scale AI/ML solutions.
• Assist sales and PMO with presales work with potential customers to understand their needs and recommend solutions.
• Engage in dialogue with customers and other stakeholders to suggest technical solution(s) for customer's ideas, vision and/or needs.
• Answer technical questions from potential customers, direct and/or after investigation.
• Understand the customer's needs by asking open questions, being thoughtful, communicative, and creative.
• Provide insights into technology through verbal pictures and sketched drawings.
• Participate in the quotation process, together with PMO, sales and system engineers as applicable.
• Work directly with our customers, document and present the solution and explain the technical decisions taken, including the tradeoffs and consequences of those decisions.

• Contribute to the development of competence, best practices, tools, and frameworks to improve our AI/ML capabilities.
• Collaborate with developers within and from other sites to ensure that our solutions are scalable and reliable.
• Coach and guide developers to help them grow their technical skills and expertise.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest AI/ML trends, tools, and technologies to ensure that our solutions are cutting-edge.

Basic qualifications

To succeed in this role, we expect you to have:

• 10+ years of overall work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in developing ML algorithms and AI-driven solutions.
• Experience and proven track record with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
• Experience and proven track record with AI-driven IoT solutions in either consumer electronics, automotive, manufacturing, heavy equipment, mining or avionics.
• Experience with edge-AI solutions, especially power, processing and memory optimization.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Quick grasp of concepts and underlying patterns.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, creative and team-oriented environment.
• Ability to lead and positively influence others.

Preferred additional skills, personal traits and experience

• Experience with ML on platforms such as Qualcomm, Nordics or Silabs.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka to develop data pipelines for machine learning.
• Visualizing and communicating data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders using data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
• Experience developing web or mobile apps.
