At Nordnet, we believe that data is a cornerstone for our future success. To unlock its full potential, we are building a robust and scalable cloud-based data platform on GCP.
During 2020 we began migrating our backend services to GCP with the ambition of being one of the few banks with cloud-based services in a highly regulated industry.
During 2021 we started to rewrite our Data & Analytics Environment from the ground up on GCP. In 2023, we embarked on a journey of implementing a Data Mesh.
We have a strong foundation in place and have achieved widespread platform adoption. Now, we are entering the next phase of our journey, further enhancing our data platform and expanding its utilization. As a Data Engineering Manager, this will be your focus.
Your role
You will be the manager of the four Data Engineers in the Data Platform Team, and together with them craft the best possible data platform for Nordnet. You will be instrumental in defining our data strategy and our version of Data Mesh, and you will also spend a large share of your time working hands-on together with the team and in collaborations across Nordnet.
You will be a part of the Data & Insights department, that together are responsible for Product and Customer Insights, Business Intelligence, Data platform and AI/ML. You will report to the Director of Data & Insights and be a member of the Data & Insights Management team.
As Data Engineer Manager you are responsible for the outcome of your team, and you use coaching, facilitation and your practical experience to help your team grow, succeed and continuously deliver value.
You are passionate about data, infrastructure, and the opportunities it provides. Collaboration and discussing ideas and concepts with your colleagues are things you enjoy and believe are important in order to build great products.
You are also passionate about leadership and want to contribute with your experience and knowledge, both as a leader and a data engineer, when we continue our journey of leveraging all data generated on our platform.

As a Data Engineering Manager we believe that you
- Are a senior Data Engineer with experience from working in GCP
- Are an empathic and experienced leader, willing to share your knowledge
- Have experience working with a Platform as a Product mindset
- Have experience from defining and implementing data strategies
- Are a solution oriented person, interested in understanding different perspectives and challenges
- Have strong communication skills and the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders in our vision
- Hold a BA degree or higher in Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related technological fields.
