Role - Solution Architect - Tietoevry Banking -Professional Services

Location - Stockholm, Oslo

Reports To: Head of Growth and Business Development

Job Title: Solution Architect

Job Summary:

We are seeking a strategic and technically adept Solution Architect to lead the design of scalable, secure and 'fit for purpose' service and development solutions in the Fintech space. This role also plays a critical part in presales engagements, working closely with sales, product delivery and Customer teams to define winning solution proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Design

• Based on customer requirements/scope, offerings and product ecosystem, define best-fit solutions for services.
• Design overall solution architecture (front end, middleware, database, integration and infrastructure) and Service architecture (delivery model, service model, operations description, business continuity, SLAs)
• Define reusable components, integration patterns, and service models

Presales & Client Engagement

• Collaborate with Customer, sales and development teams to understand requirements.
• Lead technical discovery sessions (due diligence) , solution workshops, and proposal development. Provide consultative approach to drive the discussions during workshop.
• Create solution presentations, architecture overview and effort estimations for RFPs/RFIs.
• Review cost and price estimates. Review proposal and contract.
• Present solution proposal to Customer.
• Crete and maintain reusable components for RFPs/RFIs

Development Enablement

• Work with delivery teams to ensure seamless handoff from solution design to development.
• Participate in delivery reviews, governance meetings and provide feedback.
• Work with business development team to contribute to research/analysis

Compliance & Security

• Ensure all solutions comply with banking regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, EU AI Act, specific regulations).
• Advise on security implementation practices including testing and audits.

Documentation & Communication

• Produce high-quality solution documentation.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and delivery teams
• Lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior architects and engineers.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and vendors/partners for strategic fit.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in solution architecture roles within the banking domain.
• Strong understanding of banking processes, systems, and regulatory landscape.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure set-up, microservices, APIs and enterprise integration.
• Familiarity with core banking systems and digital channels.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS/Azure Architect are a plus.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with fintech platforms like Temenos, Finastra, Vilja, Mambu, BANCS, Marqeta, Plaid or similar.
• Exposure to open banking, embedded finance or Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS).
• Certifications in cloud architecture (AWS/Azure/GCP), TOGAF, or secure development (e.g., OWASP, CISSP).
