About the role
The Senior Technical Architect designs, develops and maintains functional and secure networks working together with other internal and partner technical individuals and teams. All while also applies complex design principles and methodology to ensure cost-effective and optimal use of resources and technology without jeopardizing network integrity.

Duties and responsibilities in the role will include but are not limited to:

• 
  Interface with business, IT and vendors to develop and implement solutions to meet business requirements.
  
• 
  Create Network Architecture level designs.
  
• 
  Design and manage the rollout of network infrastructures and projects.
  
• 
  Perform analytical, technical and business value analysis work in the planning, design, installation and on-going administration and management of Fortum data networks.
  
• 
  Provide cross-functional technical expertise to further develop Fortum IT.
  
• 
  Conduct network training on technical and practical levels.
  

About you
Education, knowledge, skills and abilities:

• 
  Bachelor of Science in Network Engineering with six or more years directly related experience. (Proven technical experience may be substituted for educational requirement)
  
• 
  In-depth knowledge of Local- and Wide-area data networks design and architecture.
  
• 
  Strong knowledge of network requirements in production environments.
  
• 
  Strong working knowledge and hands-on experience with Checkpoint, Fortinet, HPE and Aruba network hardware, software and the related protocols.
  
• 
  Deep understanding of network security with strong working knowledge and related technical skills for mitigating security threats.
  
• 
  Strong working knowledge of structured cabling systems, network facilities, electrical, UPS, etc.
  
• 
  Thorough understanding of IT processes and industry best practises.
  
• 
  Working knowledge on SSE solutions is a bonus.
  
• 
  Ability to work alone as an individual contributor, as a technical lead and as a participant in a team environment and good communication skills overall.
  
• 
  Sense of urgency and ability to perform exceptionally under pressure.
  
• 
  The role requires fluency in spoken and written English. Knowledge of Finnish or Swedish is advantageous.
