Job Description

At Capgemini, we are in need to create and develop a new design system to be at the forefront of our brand identity. Our mission is to create a user-friendly and powerful conversational design system to be connected to a wide array of digital products within our ecosystem.

We are looking for a front-end developer who has a deep understanding of Atomic Design Principles (or similar design methodologies) for creating reusable UI components. Knowledgeable skills in making components accessible, including using tools like Storybook's Accessibility Add-on.
The assignment relates to building and updating our new design system in Storybook to support all digital products within our ecosystem. The front-end developers role is crucial in building an intuitive conversational interface where solutions for tackling cohesive brands are central. From creating animations, loaders, and spinners to progressively rendering the output, the engineer's solutions will make a huge impact.

Your responsibilities

• Collaborate with UX designers to implement designs provided in Figma, ensuring variants and tokens support both light and dark modes.
• Implement intuitive components such as buttons, colors, typography, animations, loaders, and spinners to enhance user experience during latency periods.
• Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while following best practices and industry standards.
• Testing built components to be accessible and compliant with the ecosystem.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues, providing timely resolutions to technical challenges.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in front-end development.
• Maintain a mindset of continuous learning and adaptation, staying updated with the latest trends and advancements in technology.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of proven experience as a front-end developer with expertise in Angular and similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with Figma (dev mode) for implementing UI designs (ability to translate designs into functional code).
• Proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript, as Storybook is built for frontend frameworks.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, and preprocessors like SCSS/SASS.
• Familiarity with libraries like Material UI, Chakra UI, or Bootstrap, which you might use alongside Storybook.

• Experience with unit testing and visual regression testing using tools like: Jest, Testing Library, or Cypress for behavior tests.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Understanding of security best practices in web development.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with emerging technologies and trends.

We look forward hearing from you.
