Role Summary

As a Concept Development Engineer in the Powertrain Pre-development team, you will work at the very frontier of our BEV and combustion-based architecture. Your focus will be to create and evaluate early-stage powertrain concepts that are innovative, technically feasible, and cost-effective - all tailored for the rapidly growing Chinese market. You will have a central role in combining technical curiosity with design creativity to challenge the conventional.

This role requires flexibility, a collaborative mindset, and a willingness to explore bold solutions that may define the future of Scania's powertrain offerings in Asia.

Job Responsibilities

• Generate early-phase concept solutions for powertrain systems and architecture, including packaging and integration
• Drive cross-functional technical studies and pre-development activities, often in high-uncertainty environments
• Collaborate closely with teams in vehicle layout, controls, testing, and industrialization
• Visualize and communicate design ideas through sketches, CAD models, and structured decision materials
• Identify and propose innovative technical solutions based on customer needs, technical feasibility, and cost targets

Who You Are

• You are innovative, flexible and curious - and you thrive in a fast-paced, creative engineering environment.
• You have 5+ experience in powertrain or complete vehicle development and are comfortable working conceptually and cross-functionally.
• You enjoy exploring alternative technical paths, thinking outside the box, and translating ideas into clear proposals.
