Short Description

SAS and SAS Finance are currently undergoing a transformational phase, offering a unique opportunity to shape the future of the company and its finance function. As a Business Controller within SAS Operations, you will join a team of 11 controllers, led by a dedicated team leader. You will report directly to the Head of Business Control and work closely with colleagues across the team and with stakeholders from departments outside Finance.

In this role, you will support the business in achieving strategic and tactical goals, optimize resources, and enhance cost-efficiency through various projects and development initiatives. Your responsibilities will include both short-term financial planning (within the budget year) and long-term projects aimed at strengthening our competitiveness.

You will also play a key role in presenting business performance and developments in a clear and accessible way, driving business case development, and ensuring the progress of cost-saving initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire your team of Business and Financial Controllers.
• Support the business leadership team with financial development, reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Manage the forecasting and budgeting processes for the business unit.
• Develop and refine key performance indicators, decision-making tools, and profitability analyses.
• Oversee and support change initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.
• Provide benchmarks and analyses to support negotiations.
• Enhance reporting and system tools to improve operational monitoring.
• Educate and support managers to strengthen their financial understanding and oversight.

Experience

As the ideal candidate for this role, you have:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Business Control or a similar role, such as consulting or "Big 4" experience.
• Proven expertise in stakeholder management and collaborating with senior leaders.
• Experience in a fast-paced, operational environment with multiple interfaces, ideally within the airline industry.
• Strong integrity and the ability to question, engage, and contribute valuable insights to business operations.
• A university degree in economics or a related field, with at least a bachelor's level qualification.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and BI tools (e.g., Power BI).
• Proficiency in spoken and written English; a Scandinavian language is highly desirable but not mandatory.
